  • In order to host the TriAthy event, a temporary road closure is required to cater for the significant number of participants who take part each year.
  • This is an essential safety feature of the race and heightens the quality and standard of experience for our athletes. It also allows enough space for supporters and well-wishers to cheer on their club-mates and relatives taking part.
  • The TriAthy Team acknowledge that these temporary arrangements will cause some inconvenience and disruption to local residents along the route of the race.
  • We will always try to mitigate the impact through extensive pre-race communications in advance of race day.
  • We hope the vibrancy and colour of Race Day more than compensates for any inconvenience caused. We invite all local residents to support and cheer the thousands of triathletes and would-be triathletes taking part in the event.
  • Participants in TriAthy come from all over Ireland and further afield. Let's give them a great Athy welcome.

  • This is a personal choice for the participant.
  • If you intend to take part in more than 3 sanctioned Triathlon Ireland races in 2025 then it makes more sense financially to purchase a Triathlon Ireland Full/Student/Junior membership for 2025 instead of purchasing One Day Memberships for each of these races.

  • All excess baggage must be placed in the secure Baggage Drop area. Bags left in the Baggage Drop should be labelled using the tri-sticker set provided at Race Check-in.

  • Transition is an area where all entrants must rack their bike and leave their essentials for the swim and run legs.
  • It is the area where you will 'transition' from being a swimmer to a cyclist (known as T1) and then a further 'transition' from a cyclist to a runner (known as T2).
  • The transition area is a secure area, limited to entrants only.
  • At TriAthy there are separate transition zones for each of the TriAthy races as shown in the transition plan below (please note this is always subject to change and is shown here for guidance purposes only. The finalised transition map will issue in the Athlete Guide which issues before Raceday.)

  • Competitors should be fully aware of the movement flows in and out of transition during race day. These will be set out in detail within the race course maps.
