TriAthy IV goes LIVE!

With just over 150 days to go, The TriAthy Team have today (5 Jan) opened online registrations for the 2010 event. TriAthy IV will be a two-day affair being held on 5th and 6th June next (over the June Bank Holiday weekend).

So what's new in 2010?

We've taken on board lots of your comments and feedback and can confirm some positive changes to this years event... Here's just some of them:

  • We've introduced 2 new races. The first is called TRY-Athy which is race designed specifically for first-timers to the sport. The second is TriAthy JUNIOR which is aimed at upcoming triathletes between the ages of 16 and 19. TriAthy OLYMPIC and TriAthy SPRINT return in their usual guise as National Series Races in 2010.
  • SMALLER BUT BIGGER! While TriAthy IV will be a larger event, the size of each race will be reduced by 15% to allo w for greater space and race comfort. Wave sizes will also be reduced in order to enhance safety along the Swim, Cycle and Run courses.
  • TriAthy will be spread across 2 days this year so the great event atmosphere should last even longer and makes the whole weekend a sporting spectacular. TriAthy OLYMPIC and TRYAthy will be on Saturday 5th June, while TriAthy SPRINT and TriAthy JUNIOR will be on Sunday 6th June.
  • TriAthy will be the first Irish Triathlon to produce a Participant's Charter - a set of principles and standards that competitors can expect at their race. While TriAthy has become highly regarded over the years, the organiser's are keen to enhance standards to the greatest extent possible.
  • We have introduced a number of options for entrants to help make things a little more flexible. Optional Cancellation Protection will enable participants to extend the refund deadline to 21 May 2010, and we also have the option of a discounted entry to SwimAthy - the warm up swim to TriAthy on Sunday 30th May.

€39 Early Bird Special

To celebrate our launch, TriAthy have introduced an Early Bird rate of just €39 for the first 125 entrants to the OLYMPIC, SPRINT and TRYAthy races. Given the increased popularity of the race, these places are likely to go fast... so get in early if you can beat the rush!!!

Get ready for the challenge!

Set aside the mince pies, make the Christmas Turkey a distant memory and sign up for TriAthy today. This is the ideal personal and fitness challenge to kickstart the new decade!!

We look forward to welcoming you in just over 150 days time... the Summer is coming (haven't you noticed the 'stretch in the evening already!?).

A Happy New Year to you all.

The TriAthy Team.
