TRY Athy

400m SWIM - 16km CYCLE - 3.6km RUN

FIRST WAVE : Saturday 5th June from 15:30hrs

TRY Athy is a new race in 2010 which is specifically aimed towards the beginner triathlete. While the "Battle of the Barrow" will belong amongst the OLYMPIC and SPRINT events as they chase valuable National Series points, TRY-Athy is a more friendly, non-competitiive event for those who want a more placid first triathlon experience. While this race is no walk-over by any means, we believe it will be a fairer test for those who have donned their trisuits for the first time!

The swim section will be 100% downstream in the River Barrow, while the cycle section will largely follow the same 'out and back' course as the SPRINT and OLYMPIC races save for the earlier turnaround point at Levitstown. Finally the run section will introduce you to the lovely River Barrow walkway that runs south of Athy before the big finish near transition at Emily Square.
